M249 SAW spray pattern

In WARDOGS, the M249 SAW climbs about 15.0° while its sideways kick is re-rolled on every shot, inside roughly 7.5° — there is no fixed left-right shape to memorize. Here's the shape, the numbers, and how to control it — then drill it into muscle memory on SprayTrace.

M249 SAW recoil control path — WARDOGSaim Training model

One possible mouse path. The downward pull is the same on every spray; the sideways movement is different each time.

The numbers

GameWARDOGS
ClassLMG
Fire rate850 RPM
Magazine100 rounds
Vertical recoil15.0° climb
Horizontal recoil~7.5°, random per shot
Full spray~2.12s (30 rounds)
Recoil reset0.48s off trigger

WARDOGS re-rolls its sideways recoil on every shot, so there is no fixed spray to plot. Fire rate and magazine are the game's own figures; the climb and width are estimates for training.

How to control it

Controlling the M249 SAW spray

  1. Pull down to cancel the climb. The M249 SAW rises about 15.0° over its first burst — drag straight down to keep the crosshair on target as it climbs.
  2. React to the side kick, don't lead it. The sideways kick lands somewhere new on every shot, inside about 7.5° — keep the downward pull steady and correct each kick as it arrives.
  3. Reset between bursts. Recoil fully resets after about 0.48s off the trigger — tap-fire or burst at range, spray up close.
  4. Drill the climb, not a shape. At 850 RPM a full 30-round spray plays out in ~2.12s. SprayTrace's Wander drill keeps the climb fixed and re-rolls the sideways kick every run, so you train the reaction instead of a path that will not repeat.
